The Hong Kong Mobile Film Festival (HKMFF), organized by WTIA and HKPC, was initiated in the year 2007. With the general support received from the mass, all the events of the Festival in past four years received overwhelming responses. In particular, the 1st – 4th HKMFF Awards Presentation Ceremonies held from Oct 2007 to Jan 2011 recorded a Full House attendance.

In addition, the 1st – 3rd HKMFF Awards Presentation Ceremonies which was held in international event, FILMART in March 2008, 2009 and 2010 respectively also achieved great success. We were glad to have the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Bureau (CEDB) attended as our Officiating Guests in the ceremonies.

Enabled by their enhanced functions and network availability, mobile devices such as smartphone and tablet are getting more advanced and gaining more popularity. With these personalized screens becoming commonplace, a large amount of users are now able to enjoy video entertainments anytime on the go. Apart from watching, users are given the chance to produce tailor-made mobile videos in easier ways with reasonable efforts, which are subjected to be screened and shared with the public on social networks.

The 5th Hong Kong Mobile Film Festival will continue to encourage creativity of local talents and increase the public awareness to mobile films. In addition, the HKMFF has brought the local productions to the platforms all over the world since the 4th HKMFF. It will keep its momentum in the 5th edition and serve to select mobile films that will advance as candidates for the Hong Kong International Mobile Film Awards, the China’s Golden Flower Award (金花獎) and more possible international contests.
